Optimization Techniques in Rotordynamics

Abstract

This paper presents a preliminary study concerning the optimization of rotors at their transient motion. The rotors are modeled using the Transfer-Matrix-Method and the equations of motion are integrated using a Newmark'scheme. The optimization strategy involves the minimization of the global strain energy of the system or the minimization of integral functions associated to the rotor displacements.
